THE PROBLEM
Medical treatment and physical rehabilitation are only part of the recovery journey. After prolonged treatment, people need opportunities to reconnect with others, creativity, communities, and cultural life. Spaces that integrate these opportunities into rehabilitation are still limited.
HOW THE PROJECT HELPS
Creates an environment where art becomes part of comprehensive rehabilitation and the return to active life, while patients, families, and the community can interact not only in a medical setting but also in a shared cultural space.
Expected reach of UNBROKEN Art programs: 1,000+ people per year.
Recovery does not end with physical rehabilitation. Returning to familiar roles, communication, creativity, and active participation in community life is also an important part of the process.
UNBROKEN Art is being created as a contemporary cultural space where patients, their families, and the wider community can connect through art. Painting, music, theater, exhibitions, creative workshops, and contemporary performances will serve as tools for creative rehabilitation, psychological recovery, social interaction, and reintegration.
UNBROKEN Art will bring rehabilitation and cultural life together in one space - a place open to creativity, connection, and shared experiences for patients, their families, and the community.
The space is also being developed to scale arts-based practices already used within UNBROKEN.
