Recovery after severe injuries is not limited to medical treatment and physical rehabilitation. It may also involve working with emotions, lived experience, and finding new meaning. That is why arts-based practices have become one of the non-clinical rehabilitation approaches within the UNBROKEN ecosystem.
Painting, music, ceramics, photography, theater, and other creative activities create a safe space for self-expression and interaction. Based on practitioners' observations, these practices can help patients work through difficult emotions, reduce psychological tension, regain a sense of control, and build new social connections.
For some participants, creative practice continues beyond the rehabilitation program - as a new interest, a form of social interaction, or a path for further development.
